PROJECTS
Global Rx Co
Global Pharmaceutical Company, Raritan NJ | 1.7 MW “Front Yard” Ground Array
Scope of Work
SunDurance Energy has completed the engineering, procurement and construction of a 1.7 megawatt (MW) fixed-tilt, ground mounted solar generation system for a global pharmaceutical company with a corporate commitment to reduce its carbon footprint across all its facilities. This system, comprised of over 7,300 solar panels and covering six acres, is expected to produce over 2 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity annually which is approximately 10 percent of the facility’s energy needs. The system will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 1,600 metric tons annually and is the equivalent to taking 270 passenger vehicles off the road each year.
Brief Description of Effort
The best location for the array is the front and side yards of the facility. Shading from the main building is the reason for the open center space. A major highway runs along the front property. To ensure the neighbors, drivers and employees find the array aesthetically pleasing, our client landscaped around the array using 10-feet tall trees at the northern side of the array and a combination of shrubs and perennials to surround the remaining sides. SunDurance designed the array to have a low profile of less than 6 feet from the ground to the highest point off the array.
