Scope of Work

In 2006 Jersey Construction was in the process of moving their location to the New Jersey Pinelands, our country’s first ever designated National Reserve.  In order to make their new location environmentally friendly, the JC team decided to power their building with clean, renewable solar energy.

SunDurance provided a turn-key installation that consisted of one 98 kW ground-mounted photovoltaic electrical generation system. The system generates over half of the complex’s electrical energy needs.

Brief Description of Effort

As a result of careful planning, detailed analysis and a deep understanding of our client’s needs, SunDurance Energy was able to deliver this system within 3 weeks from the time the project was given the notice to proceed.  However, the complexities of this project are hidden and truly required skillful planning and intellectual flexibility in order to bring this project through to fruition.  At the time of the project, the client was in the process of constructing its new company headquarters and a thorough site assessment was completed.  This site assessment led to several different design courses of action as a result, and a number of workable sites for the ground arrays were identified.  In addition, new load requirements had to be estimated based on the existing building’s load and the incremental size increase of the new building.  Ultimately, a design for 2 separate ground arrays located near the complex’s entrance was deemed as the most optimal solution.

Jersey Constructions’ solar array is the first to use Live Data Systems’ patent- pending Sunflow Monitor™ and Facility Intelligence™ energy visualization software solutions for continuous monitoring and diagnosis of all of the facility energy systems through web-enabled devices from computers to kiosks to cell phones.  This way the community and Jersey Construction can see that solar power really works.  The project is incentive for other small and medium sized businesses to generate power through clean energy.
